I can't remember how I heard about Paris Letters. But a big thank you to whoever posted about it. There are a lot of memoirs about people moving to France so I wasn't sure what to expect. But this was different. It wasn't so much about Paris – although the Paris Painted Letters that the author created did give you the real atmosphere. These are reproduced in black and white throughout the book.
No, the most appealing thing was that it was about the author's internal journey from being a busy hard driven office worker to shedding almost all her possessions and moving to Paris and just hanging out.
There's a love story too. But I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a cluttered life – it will make you think. Off to do something about my wardrobes right now!
