Palazzo Versace

Palazzo Versace is not a palace in Italy as you might have thought.  It is a hotel on the Gold Coast in Australia.  It is named after, and owned by, the fashion label and if you have ever looked at a picture of Donatella Versace, you will have a fair idea of the hotel's décor.  Very ornate – actually OTT (over the top).  There is another Palazzo Versace in Dubai.

We had a long weekend there.  And enjoyed the hotel.  Although I was a bit put off by the fact that the walls of the shower and toilet part of the bathroom didn't go right to the ceiling.  So there was no effective sound separation (or smell, for that matter).  I found that a bit weird.

I don't know if all the rooms are like that.

The pool was attractive but not very private.  As you can see the buildings come very close to it.

We did splash out on a dinner at their fine dining restaurant, Vanitas.  And it was truly a stand out.
