Tap v bottled water

I shudder when I think how much money I spent on bottled water before seeing the light and switching to our perfectly good town water supply.  Thank goodness it is now quite acceptable to order tap water in restaurants rather than overpriced bottled water.

Having said that I do tend to drink bottled water when I travel.

  1. I think our water is great - right out of the faucet! But my husband will only drink filtered. Or bottled. We buy it for travel too. While in Houston I drank tap water and it was just fine. My daughter only drinks filtered or bottled. I am too impatient to stand there and fill the glass with filtered water. It doesn't come out fast enough for me!

    1. Just imagine how much would be saved in total if we were all confident about the quality of the water coming out of our taps! Thanks for your comment.

  2. Yes, I agree Carole. I drink bottled water in foreign countries. I have found that that USA tap water is great most anywhere!

  3. Love the post and so true, I love tap water but will drink bottled when I travel as not every country has our water quality and high standard...:-)

  4. Great post, I will also drink bottled water when I travel as not every country has our great standard of quality when it comes to tap water. I try to avoid loose leaf salads when traveling as these will be washed in tap water. The USA I have found to have a fine water supply and the salads are perfect too.. :-)

  5. I prefer tap water - good, clean, fresh and plentiful. If all the money spent on bottled water in the west was channeled into sanitation projects worldwide, then we could have universal access to proper sanitation in only five years.
