Cryptic Crosswords – Solving hints #5

It would be great to get some feedback as to whether you like this series or not.

Here’s the first of today’s clues:

Have no influence getting foreign noble free (5,3,7)

Once you think of “count” as being a foreign noble, the addition of “for nothing” meaning free, leads you directly to “count for nothing” meaning having no influence.

After short time, warning device may become a source of irritation (5)

“short time” means the abbreviation “t” for time, then after it is the word for a warning device with 4 letters.  If you come up with “horn” and add it to the “t”, you have “thorn” which matches the last part of the clue.
